Meet Smita Nadia Hussain

Hello, my name is Smita Nadia Hussain and I am running for re-election to the Bloomingdale Board of Education this November 2023. I am running for my second term after proudly and effectively serving our school district these past three years. I am excited to share that every campaign promise I made when I first ran in 2020 has been achieved and then some. My Re-Election priorities

Continued Fiscal responsibility & smart budgeting

Passing responsible, common-sense budgets without unnecessary waste that support our students and are responsible to Bloomingdale taxpayers, while looking for other sources of funding to ensure that our taxes continue to be stabilized and we get what we pay for.

Strengthening student Academic outcomes

Raising student test scores through expanded access to tutoring support and education enrichment opportunities

Improving School facilities to provide the best learning environment

Ensuring that we continue renovating and updating our facilities, in particular prioritizing upgrades regarding the Samuel R Donald school, which includes addressing ongoing parking concerns
